In 1897, Maxwell Becton and Fairleigh Dickinson founded Becton, Dickinson, and Company with a vision to improve outcomes for patients. Now an international medical technology company, BD serves healthcare institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, industry and the general public. In addition, BD’s Global Health Initiative partners with organizations around the world to address some of the most challenging global healthcare issues.

In 1998, the first BD Scholars Program was created at 麻豆传媒, providing scholarships for students majoring in nursing or a STEM field. In 2026, the endowment was amended to support Nursing students through the We Care Program, providing the resources and assisting currently enrolled students who experience food insecurity or are in need of supplemental funding resources.
