Moreover, speaking to the Ombuds Office about a concern does not constitute legal “notice” to Â鶹´«Ã½. Anyone wishing to place the institution on notice may contact a supervisor or administrator, or invoke formal grievance procedures. Meeting with the Ombuds Office and\/or the ombuds does not affect your ability to pursue formal complaints. The ombuds can help you find the appropriate person to speak to in order to request that Â鶹´«Ã½ take formal action, if that is the course of action that you choose to pursue. Important rights may be affected by the actual date when formal action is initiated and\/or when Â鶹´«Ã½ is informed of alleged misconduct.
