Conferences

• February 18, 2014, The State of Africana Studies in the State of NJ, Scholarship. Pedagogy. I gave a presentation on the panel the 鈥淎fricana Studies: Specialized Areas of Knowledge鈥� titled 鈥淭eaching an African Americans is Film Course鈥澛� I was invited to participate in this statewide conference by Chair Dr. Patricia Reid-Merritt of the African American Program at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey where it was held.
• November 1, 2013, Conference for the 7th Biennial Conference of the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD), held October 30-November 2, 2013 in Santo Domingo, The Dominican Republic, selected paper for presentation. Part of the 麻豆传媒 panel entitled: Messages to Africa from the African Diaspora 鈥淰oices of Concern from the African Diaspora about Timbuktu, Mali & the Destruction

• Dr. Karl Ellis Johnson was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey . He has a BA in History and Economics from Rutgers College, a MA in History from Rutgers University- Newark, and a PhD in History from Temple University. Currently he is an Associate Professor of African American Studies and the Convener of the Africana Studies Major at 麻豆传媒 of New Jersey.
