Faculty Assembly is open to a general college audience, including administrators, but only FA members may vote. Faculty, including library faculty and all full-time employees contractually obligated to teach are FA members as defined by our bylaws.<\/i><\/p>\n

College President\u2019s Report:<\/p>\n
–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Expressed her enthusiasm for Convocation and what a success it was. College is not going any testing, but is generally mask-friendly and masks are required for the time being in classrooms.<\/p>\n
– \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Successful debt restructure<\/p>\n
– \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Improved financial circumstances from the state, however only for this year. Needs to be included in the governor’s budget rather than done as legislative adds that need to be annually repeated.<\/p>\n
– \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 9 PNPs, one has a six figure donation to it.<\/p>\n
–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Number 1 in state for the masters in data science<\/p>\n
–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Amazon Prime is going to have a thing about Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/p>\n
– \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reviewed financial circumstances of college and future expectations<\/p>\n
– \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emphasized the importance of adhering to and living Ramapo\u2019s values.<\/p>\n
–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emphasized the importance of modeling civil discourse.<\/p>\n
Provost\u2019s Report:<\/p>\n
Faculty Engagement with President and Provost:<\/p>\n
–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enthusiasm expressed for inviting Chief Perry to Convocation and the ongoing ties and connection to the Ramapough People.<\/p>\n
Announcements<\/b><\/p>\n
GECCo: Prof. Sarah Carberry – Course submissions are due October 15, firm deadline. Need Historical Perspectives person and someone from ASB. Plea that people will cooperate with assessment and provide materials when materials are requested.<\/p>\n
WAC: Prof. Paula Straile-Costa – Course submissions are due October 15, firm deadline.<\/p>\n
ARC: Prof. David Oh – Course submissions are due October 15, firm deadline. November 1 is the deadline for program proposals. ARC needs an SSHS representative.<\/p>\n
Enrollment Update: VP Chris Romano – not able to attend, update will be posted<\/p>\n
Public Safety Update: VP Nicole Morgan Agard – found a new director of public safety.<\/p>\n
New Business<\/b><\/p>\n
Academic Master Plan: Ken, Susan, Cindy – spoke on the upcoming task force.<\/p>\n
Registrar Search Committee: Search firm will be facilitating the committee\u2019s work. Firm will be meeting with various constituencies on campus in coming weeks.<\/p>\n
