Faculty, including library faculty and all full-time employees contractually obligated to teach are FA members as defined by our bylaws.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Agenda<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Reports<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Faculty Assembly President\u2019s Report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FAEC has been meeting and working hard over the summer.<\/li>\n<li>Top Topics on FAEC\u2019s Agenda\n<ul>\n<li>Provost Search:<\/li>\n<li>Registrar\u2019s Search:<\/li>\n<li>Strategic Planning Writing Team:<\/li>\n<li>Academic Master Plan Task Force<\/li>\n<li>Faculty Handbook &#8211; October 31<\/li>\n<li>Byte-Sized Lecture Series &#8211; Faculty Research Lecture Series<\/li>\n<li>Convenor compensation<\/li>\n<li>Centers going through changes<\/li>\n<li>ARC, GECCo, and WAC &#8211; focus on providing support to them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>College President\u2019s Report:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Expressed her enthusiasm for Convocation and what a success it was. College is not going any testing, but is generally mask-friendly and masks are required for the time being in classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Successful debt restructure<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Improved financial circumstances from the state, however only for this year. Needs to be included in the governor&#8217;s budget rather than done as legislative adds that need to be annually repeated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 9 PNPs, one has a six figure donation to it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Number 1 in state for the masters in data science<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Amazon Prime is going to have a thing about Â鶹´«Ã½<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reviewed financial circumstances of college and future expectations<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emphasized the importance of adhering to and living Ramapo\u2019s values.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emphasized the importance of modeling civil discourse.<\/p>\n<p>Provost\u2019s Report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emphasized new hires to the college, both faculty and graduate assistants<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Faculty Research and Scholarship:\n<ul>\n<li>Faculty Research Room for interdisciplinary engagement<\/li>\n<li>External Agency for assisting with grant proposals and submissions<\/li>\n<li>Byte-Sized Faculty Research Lecture Series<\/li>\n<li>Master Calendar for TLC (Teaching\/Learning Core)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Academic Master Plan Task Force: Will be coming soon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Faculty Engagement with President and Provost:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enthusiasm expressed for inviting Chief Perry to Convocation and the ongoing ties and connection to the Ramapough People.<\/p>\n<p><b>Announcements<\/b><\/p>\n<p>GECCo: Prof. Sarah Carberry &#8211; Course submissions are due October 15, firm deadline. Need Historical Perspectives person and someone from ASB. Plea that people will cooperate with assessment and provide materials when materials are requested.<\/p>\n<p>WAC: Prof. Paula Straile-Costa &#8211; Course submissions are due October 15, firm deadline.<\/p>\n<p>ARC: Prof. David Oh &#8211; Course submissions are due October 15, firm deadline. November 1 is the deadline for program proposals. ARC needs an SSHS representative.<\/p>\n<p>Enrollment Update: VP Chris Romano &#8211; not able to attend, update will be posted<\/p>\n<p>Public Safety Update: VP Nicole Morgan Agard &#8211; found a new director of public safety.<\/p>\n<p><b>New Business<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Academic Master Plan: Ken, Susan, Cindy &#8211; spoke on the upcoming task force.<\/p>\n<p>Registrar Search Committee: Search firm will be facilitating the committee\u2019s work.
