\u00a0<\/span>Present:<\/b> Naseem Choudhury (<\/b>President, SSHS<\/span>), Bonnie Blake (<\/b>(Councilor-at-Large over 11, CA), <\/span>Katie Cohen (<\/b>Library), <\/span>Donna Flynn<\/b> (Councilor-at-Large under 11, TAS), <\/span>Scott Frees<\/b> (Vice President, TAS), <\/span>Kim Lorber<\/b> (Secretary), <\/span>Lisa Lutter, <\/b>(CA), T<\/span>hierry Rakotbe-Joel<\/b> (ASB), <\/span>Mihaela Serban<\/b> (SSHS), <\/span>Ed Shannon<\/b> (HGS)<\/span><\/p>\n Guests:<\/b> Sarah Carberry<\/b> (<\/span>GECCo<\/span> Chair)<\/span><\/p>\n Vote to bring meeting to order at 10:02am.<\/span><\/p>\n Minutes Approval:<\/b> The 4\/7\/21 minutes were approved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n FA PRESIDENT\u2019S REPORT AND DISCUSSION<\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>Course Delivery Change Dates: <\/b>It is unclear how much flexibility there is in changing course delivery modes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Enrollment as of April 13<\/b>th<\/b>:\u00a0 <\/b>We have access to some information. Currently, SSHS conveners received data about course and delivery mode percentage preferences for seniors in the early days of registration for Fall 2021. We agreed FAEC should routinely receive the same enrollment updates given to Conveners and Deans.<\/span><\/p>\n Provost Meeting: <\/b>Naseem will meet on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n Transition Team\/Planning:<\/b><\/p>\n o\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0Faculty Considerations:<\/b> Where would we like to be in 5 years?<\/span><\/p>\n o \u00a0 <\/span>Collaboration between schools: <\/b>We used to do this more.<\/span><\/p>\n Teaching: <\/b>How do we better address learning the needs of students during these difficult times?<\/span><\/p>\n Forthcoming Surveys:<\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Year\u2019s Goals:<\/b><\/p>\n Faculty Forum: <\/b>The next and last Faculty Forum for the academic year will be held on 4\/28\/21.<\/span><\/p>\n Financial Information: <\/b>This academic year we have been able to receive more financial information about the College. For example, Professor Stephen Larsen has provided information about the Budget Report and Professor Yongbum Kim has similarly shared important details from the BoT Audit Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n Faculty Service:<\/b> There is some <\/span>concern<\/span> about a <\/span>perceived hestiance of some<\/span> Faculty to fulfill their sevice obligation by serving on committees and engaging in voting. is less inclined to volunteer. The Faculty Handbook can will help by <\/span>specifying how service is measured and counted<\/span>. Who serves? How is service acknowledged or recognized? What is the incentive for faculty?<\/span><\/p>\n Instructional Design Center<\/b>: Lysandra Perez-Strumolo has offered words of appreciation to Dr. Michael Bitz and all those also involved in seeing us through the pandemic. <\/span><\/p>\n ARC Courses in The Approval Process:<\/b> These are not being listed by the Registrar as they are new courses requiring ARC approval.
