{"id":5492,"date":"2018-06-01T13:33:48","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T17:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2024-2025\/?page_id=5492"},"modified":"2024-07-29T13:13:13","modified_gmt":"2024-07-29T17:13:13","slug":"transfer-credit","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2024-2025\/masters\/transfer-credit\/","title":{"rendered":"Transfer\u00a0Credit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>TRANSFERRING<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>GRADUATE CREDIT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>PROCEDURE PART 4<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>External Transfer Credit<\/p>\n<p>If a syllabus indicates that a graduate course taken elsewhere is equivalent to one offered by a graduate program at Â鶹´«Ã½, application for transfer credits may be submitted.\u00a0The criteria for acceptance are different for each graduate program; therefore, transfer of credits must be approved by the Director of the graduate program.\u00a0Inclusive of credits awarded through Graduate Prior Learning Assessment (GPLA), only a maximum of 25% of the overall credits required to complete the graduate degree may be considered for transfer into a Â鶹´«Ã½ graduate program provided the courses are from another accredited institution of higher education. Students who transfer from a non-degree program to a degree program must fulfill the degree requirements in place at the time of matriculation into the degree program.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate students can also earn credit\u00a0through Graduate Prior Learning Assessment (GPLA). (Please see Policy 300-H Assessment of Prior Learning for Academic Credit for more details.)<\/p>\n<p>Internal Transfer Credit<\/p>\n<p>It may be possible to apply up to 15 credits or 25% of the total credits required to complete the graduate degree, whichever is greater, of Master\u2019s-level coursework completed at Â鶹´«Ã½ to two different Ramapo Master\u2019s programs, as long as this aligns with the criteria of the subsequent Master\u2019s degree program and permission to do so is granted by the Program Director.<\/p>\n<p>The evaluation of proposed internal and external transfer credit is conducted by the Program Director whose decision is final (i.e., there is no appeal process).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2024-2025\/masters\/\">Back to Graduate Programs Policies and Procedures<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRANSFERRING\u00a0GRADUATE CREDIT PROCEDURE PART 4 External Transfer Credit If a syllabus indicates that a graduate course taken elsewhere is equivalent to one offered by a graduate program at Â鶹´«Ã½, application for transfer credits may be submitted.\u00a0The criteria for acceptance are different for each graduate program;
