Degree from Rutgers-SHRP and Â鶹´«Ã½, and qualify to declare a minor in Biology.<\/p>\n<h3>Concentrations in:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Dual Certification in Cardiac and Vascular\u00a0Sonography<\/strong><br \/>\nCardiac Sonographers use ultrasound technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. \u00a0Working under the direction of a physician, cardiac sonographers are trained in diagnostic procedures, data analysis and documentation and operation of state of the art equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Vascular sonographers use state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and other forms of non-invasive testing to detect the presence of arterial diseases that can cause stroke, renal failure, gangrene, amputation, and aortic aneurysms and other life-threatening venous diseases that can lead to pulmonary embolism or morbid conditions caused by flood clots, varicose veins, and non-healing ulcerations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diagnostic Medical Sonography<\/strong><br \/>\nSonographers are highly skilled professionals qualified by education to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. \u00a0Sonographers are trained in abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological and neonatal neurosonography ultrasound. using the most advanced ultrasound equipment..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application for this program is normally made by January 15 for admission the following fall.\u00a0 Applications received beyond this deadline will be considered if enrollment capacity in the major has not been reached.\u00a0 A minimum GPA of 2.85 is required and a minimum grade of B- in both Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2.<\/li>\n<li>Program requirements and admissions criteria may change as a result of changes at Rutgers that is beyond Ramapo\u2019s control.
