{"id":5439,"date":"2018-06-01T11:11:41","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T15:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2018-2019\/?page_id=5439"},"modified":"2018-06-01T11:11:41","modified_gmt":"2018-06-01T15:11:41","slug":"waiver-of-general-education-requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2019-2020\/academic-policies\/waiver-of-general-education-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Waiver of General Education Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students who transfer to Â鶹´«Ã½ with at least 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning but without a completed associate of arts or associate of science\u00a0 degree may be waived from some general education requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Students who transfer to Â鶹´«Ã½ with at least 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning must transfer from that institution or complete at Â鶹´«Ã½ courses that meet the following Â鶹´«Ã½ general education requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical Reading and Writing 102<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative Reasoning<\/li>\n<li>Scientific Reasoning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These students will be waived from all other keystone courses in the College\u2019s general education curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, these students must take one course from each of two of the following distribution categories at Â鶹´«Ã½:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Culture and Creativity<\/li>\n<li>Values and Ethics<\/li>\n<li>Systems, Sustainability, and Society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During academic advisement, students will be advised of any applicable waivers of general education requirements as well as any remaining general education courses that they must complete to fulfill Â鶹´«Ã½\u2019s degree requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/catalog-2019-2020\/academic-policies\/\">Back to Undergraduate Academic Policies<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students who transfer to Â鶹´«Ã½ with at least 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning but without a completed associate of arts or associate of science\u00a0 degree may be waived from some general education requirements.
