Students enrolled in the Business Administration major will learn and experience a variety of subjects and skills spanning all aspects of the business and organizational community and practice. Accounting, economics, business ethics, business law, finance, information systems, international business, management, marketing, and organizational behavior are some of the subjects that are explored as students prepare for their business careers in today\u2019s dynamic global and entrepreneurial economy. Contemporary competencies from information literacy to interpersonal skill are also developed through the core curriculum\u2019s learning goals of communication, ethics, foundation, perspectives, and reasoning. The career readiness of each student is specifically advanced through an individualized Career Pathways Program.<\/p>\n
Students who have completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Âé¶¹´«Ã½ have been employed in multinational, national, and local organizations of all sizes, across industries, and in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. Their employers include national and local firms; corporations and entrepreneurial ventures; consultancies; technology, retail, entertainment, sports, banking and other service industries; manufacturing; education; health care; nonprofits; and government. Additionally, many Ramapo business students are accepted into graduate and doctoral programs.\u00a0 A Business Administration student must<\/em> choose one<\/em> of the following concentrations within the Business Administration major: Finance, Management, or Marketing, but may choose up to two concentrations within the major.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n Management is the fundamental and necessary activity in every organization \u2013 regardless of the organization\u2019s size, scope, or purpose. Managers are responsible for envisioning the organization\u2019s mission and core values, setting the organization\u2019s objectives and practices, and leading people productively and ethically as they interface with stakeholders, systems, and equipment. While these basic functions of management have not changed, the drive and impact of innovation combined with growth of the global economy, information and service sectors, technological transformation, and diversity in the work place are changing how organizations operate. Preparing students to be successful managers in these dynamic times is the Management concentration and its faculty\u2019s purpose.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At Âé¶¹´«Ã½, the Management Concentration prepares its students to be leaders and innovators. Its students receive an in-depth and comprehensive exposure to management functions, roles, and responsibilities. That exposure is grounded in academic tradition, includes contemporary case analysis and active learning, and builds central practitioner competencies and qualities. Students are rigorously prepared for promising careers in different industries, in private and public sectors, and for advanced academic education. The educational goals and objectives of the Management Program are infused throughout its curriculum, and furthered by a dedicated faculty with broad academic and practitioner experience.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>The Management Program at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ prioritizes the following for development within its students:<\/span><\/p>\n The Management Program participates in the Cooperative Education and Study Abroad programs, and sponsors student clubs and extracurricular activities related to the major. Its students are advised and mentored by the faculty.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>Students completing the Management Program receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Management.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Goal 1: Communication: <\/strong>Our students will demonstrate effective oral and written communication using appropriate current technology.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will deliver well-prepared oral presentations.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 2: <\/strong>Students will compose well-written business documents.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 2: Ethics: <\/strong>Our students will consider the moral implications of business actions and processes, and propose ethically sound solutions.<\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will detect ethical dilemmas and offer potential alternatives and solutions.<\/p>\n Goal 3: Foundation: <\/strong>Our students will have a broad-based knowledge in the functional areas of business.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will comprehend principles and practices in key business disciplines.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 4: Perspectives: <\/strong>Our students will consider diverse points of view and apply them towards issue resolution.<\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will be able to identify and analyze different points of view when seeking to resolve business-related issues.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 5: Reasoning: <\/strong>Our students will be critical thinkers and decision makers able to use qualitative and quantitative methods.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1: <\/strong>Students will be able to identify and analyze problems and opportunities, generate alternatives, and recognize appropriate solutions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Goal 6<\/strong>: Comprehensive Knowledge in the Discipline:<\/strong>\u00a0 Reasoning –\u00a0Our students will be critical thinkers and decision makers able to use qualitative and quantitative methods<\/p>\n Outcome 1<\/strong>: Our management students will be critical thinkers and decision makers who are able to carry out systematic analysis.\u00a0 They should be able to identify and analyze problems and opportunities and to evaluate alternatives, from a management perspective.<\/p>\n Goal 7: <\/strong>Specialized Knowledge in the Discipline<\/strong><\/p>\n Outcome 1<\/strong>:\u00a0 Our management students will apply the specific knowledge gained in management elective coursework in the analysis of management problems and opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n <\/p>\n\n
