The minor in Women\u2019s and Gender Studies introduces students to the remarkable international body of knowledge and creative work about women and gender which have emerged in the past generation.\u00a0 Students work with questions and methods from many disciplines, focusing on the meaning of femininity and masculinity as social categories, and becoming acquainted with the ideas and history of feminism and gender in the U.S. and worldwide.\u00a0 Courses in Women\u2019s and Gender Studies are often settings which enable students to formulate educational and career objectives based on a clearer sense of their social world, their own strengths, and their special values.\u00a0 The minor is a logical component of a student\u2019s preparation for a career in law, business, public health, the social services, and teaching.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
