Jason Hecht<\/h4>\n

\"ProfessorJason Hecht joined Â鶹´«Ã½ in 1998 after working as a financial economist in the insurance industry for nearly eighteen\u00a0 years. Since 2011, he has been the Convener of the Finance major and has served on numerous committees in support of the Anisfield School of Business AACSB accreditation efforts as well as Ramapo\u2019s broader educational mission. In 2008, he received the Florence and Fred Thomases Award for significant and ongoing contributions to Â鶹´«Ã½. He has an interdisciplinary approach to teaching his courses which include Corporate Finance I, Commercial Bank Management, Financial and Economic Forecasting, and Econometrics. His research interests include analyzing and modeling the interactions between firm-level finance, capital formation, growth and technological change. His numerous publications have appeared in leading finance and economics journals including Applied Financial Economics, Applied Economics, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Journal of Economics and Business, Banking and Finance Review, and the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. From 2000 to 2008, he co-authored the 6 th , 7 th , and 8 th editions of Economic Issues Today. He has a BA in Economics from SUNY-Oneonta, an MA in Applied Economics from SUNY-Binghamton, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the New School for Social Research.<\/p>\n

James E. Jaworski’81,Esq.\"James <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Mr. Jaworski is a Partner with Wells, Jaworski & Liebman, LLP, a commercial law firm based in Paramus, N.J. The firm specializes in land use and planning matters, but also deals with litigation, real estate, business\/corporate and tax, trusts and estates. James heads up the firm\u2019s real estate department and routinely represents clients before planning and zoning boards throughout northern N.J. He is a member of the Anisfield School of Business Alumni Advisory Board, a Ramapo adjunct faculty member, a trustee on the board of West Bergen Mental Healthcare and is active with the Bergen Highlands-Ramsey Rotary Foundation. James was honored by the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation in 2008 at its Distinguished Citizens Dinner. He enjoys skiing, water sports and fine wine, and spending time with his family.<\/p>\n

Beta Gamma Sigma<\/h3>\n

Founded in 1913, the first national honor society in business was a merger of three separate societies established to honor academic achievement in business at the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois and the University of California.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Today, Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society that provides the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate (graduate) program at a school accredited by AACSB International.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Beta Gamma Sigma\u2019s objective include: 1) to encourage and honor high academic achievements by students of business and management through chapters in AACSB accredited business programs; 2) to foster in members an enduring commitment to the founding principles and values of the Society: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, and earnestness; 3) to support the advancement of business thought and practice, to encourage lifelong learning; 4) enhance the value of Beta Gamma Sigma for students and alumni members in their professional lives and 5) advance the visibility and reputation of Beta Gamma Sigma<\/em><\/p>\n
